I have a fairly harsh and negative opinion of generative AI and how it is affecting society.
I’m also smart enough to know that when capitalists suddenly create panic to pump the breaks on their own market growth that they’re not doing it for the good of mankind.
This feels more like posturing for the inevitable bubble burst and the cascading financial crisis that’s going to cause. When you see big money moving to stop making money, brace yourself and wait for the grabby hands reaching for government bailouts.
They are shifting their focus from your wallet to your tax dollars.
Additional Perspective: The general public is pushing back against the building of AI data centers? Just create a scenario where eminent domain forces their creation under the guise of national defense and let tax dollars pay for it.
